Light

I must admit, I have an obsession with light.  I was initially concerned about the lack of light on the site, but then realised that a lot of the rooms in the dance studio did not actually need natural light (including the theater, storage and dance studios when used for teaching)- so I aimed to maximise on what was there.  I looked at various methods, but the one that seemed the most useful was the use of light shelves which would reflect light into classrooms, offices, the lounge and dance studios.  The following diagram gives and idea of how this would work.

This diagram also shows the natural light which would enter the public foyer.
