Design is an iterative process

After spending many hours attempting to revive my design, it feels like I cannot take it any further. I have, therefore, decided to take a few steps back and re-visit my initial ideas about the experience of being inside my building, and what I am trying to achieve, and then take elements of the last proposal, as well as back from the folie, and try to come up with some alternatives.

First, I have decided to back to my ideas about spatial relationships and public/private spaces, and the following diagram shows some decisions I have made.

In looking at the site, I also decided that in terms of scale, I would like to design a building that does not get "lost" in the site, so I may have to look at a more vertical building, rather than a single or double level which sprawls as the site is narrow and long.

This has led me to the conclusion that I need to think of a vertical building, or perhaps a few seperate vertical buildings based on functional relationships- that is, I need to look at what functions need to be next to each other and whick ones do not. I have defined the functions as either educational or performative, as I assume that one would not be educating in a large scale theater.
